Grid Flex Launches Energy Management System for Commercial Use, Onboards First Customer Six Months After Development Began
Calgary-based energy-tech company moves its cloud EMS from build to paying deployment in under half a year.
CALGARY, Alberta — October 21, 2026 — Grid Flex Global Inc. ("Grid Flex") today announced the commercial release of the Grid Flex Energy Management System (EMS), its cloud-based platform for monitoring, controlling and optimizing energy use across commercial and industrial sites. The company has also onboarded its first commercial customer, Premier Hub Innovation Center, in Lagos/Nigeria, marking the platform's move from development to live revenue-generating operation just six months after software development started in April 2026.
Built under the banner "Monitor Energy. Control Costs. Drive Efficiency.", the Grid Flex EMS gives facility owners and operators a single view of how much energy their sites consume, where it comes from and what it costs. The platform connects to smart meters, inverters, generators and battery systems through IoT gateways and streams the data to a cloud dashboard accessible from any browser.
The commercial release includes:
-
Multi-Site Dashboard
Real-time load, consumption and cost figures across every site in an organization, with daily, weekly and monthly usage trends.
-
Energy-Mix Tracking
A live breakdown of supply from grid, solar, battery and generator sources, so operators can see how much of their power is self-generated.
-
Generator Fuel Management
Fuel levels, refueling logs, consumption rates and cost per litre tracked alongside generator run-hours.
-
Configurable Alerts
Rule-based notifications for consumption thresholds, equipment faults, low fuel and abnormal load, delivered by email and in-app.
-
Device and Site Management
Onboarding of meters and controllers, device health status and site-level configuration from one console.
-
Organization Controls
Role-based user access, team invitations and in-app support ticketing.
Development of the platform began in April 2026. Within six months, the Grid Flex team took the system from first commit to a production release handling live meter data, a pace the company attributes to a small, focused engineering team and a product scope shaped directly by operators of commercial facilities in West Africa, where unreliable grid supply makes energy visibility a daily operating need rather than a reporting exercise.
"Most energy management software is built for markets where the grid is a given. We built Grid Flex EMS for operators who run grid, solar, batteries and generators side by side and need to know, in real time, what each one is costing them. Going from the first line of code to a live commercial customer in six months tells us we scoped the right problem."
— Yinka Adelodun, Founder and CEO, Grid Flex Global Inc.
Grid Flex's first customer, Premier Hub Innovative Center, has deployed the EMS at their offices in Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. The deployment went live in October 2026 and is already used to track daily fuel spend and flag off-hours consumption.
"At our facilities, maintaining reliable power supply is essential to ensuring uninterrupted business operations. Grid Flex monitoring system has enabled our organization to track diesel consumption, monitor generator running hours, record fuel deliveries, and reconcile fuel usage against actual power generation."
— Ibukun Obe, Chief Executive Officer, Premier Hub Innovation Center, Nigeria
Availability
Grid Flex EMS is available now to commercial and industrial customers on a subscription basis, priced per connected site and device. Onboarding, gateway installation and meter integration are delivered by Grid Flex and its field partners. Prospective customers can request a demonstration at gridflexems.com.
